Tired of missing savings and credit card promotions? This CardPointers review shows how the must-have app maximizes your rewards and offers – it’s truly a game-changer!
Before CardPointers, I scrambled to pick the right credit card at checkout and struggled to track offers as my wallet filled with more cards. As a result, I missed out on thousands of rewards points and miles by not optimizing my spending.
I tried jotting down which cards to use for daily purchases like dining, groceries, and bills. My system wasn’t perfect, but it was better than nothing.
Then, CardPointers changed how I managed my credit cards on the go. Now I use it a couple of times a week – at the grocery store, while dining out, planning a trip, and more. In two years, it’s helped me catch hundreds of dollars in offers I would have missed entirely.
If you’ve ever asked:
- Which card should I use for this purchase?
- Am I missing out on unused perks or credits?
- Which credit card is actually giving me the best return?

What is CardPointers?
CardPointers is an app designed to help users simplify credit card management and maximize rewards and offers. It helps select the right credit card at checkout and tracks offers and rewards.
Recently featured as Apple’s App of the Day (May 2025), CardPointers helps me answer the important question: What card should I use to maximize my points and miles earning potential?

Available on Android and iOS (iPad and Apple Watch) devices, as well as Chrome and Safari browser extensions, it can be accessed wherever you are.
Here’s the thing: Spreadsheets and other DIY methods rely on accurate data. In the ever-changing world, points and miles offers quickly become outdated. Not to mention that sourcing all this information is time-consuming.
CardPointers keeps your credit card details organized and helps you quickly decide which card to use for every purchase, ensuring you make the most of your rewards.
Since the app updates automatically, we can make informed decisions every time.

Who is CardPointers for?
Great question! This app is for anyone with more than 2 credit cards who struggles to keep track of card offers, including limited-time offers.
This app is ideal for anyone focused on maximizing credit card rewards and managing points and miles more efficiently, especially if you want to make the most of every purchase.
Whether you travel often, shop strategically, or just want to optimize your card benefits, CardPointers provides insights and tools to help you reach your goals.
Key Features
CardPointers helps with various tasks related to credit card management and maximizing rewards.
First, it helps you pick the right credit card at checkout by tracking over 5,000 available cards. It also supports 900+ banks worldwide.
It monitors your annual fee spending and notifies you when your card is about to renew, so you can decide whether to keep, cancel, or downgrade it. The app also tracks your progress toward minimum spending requirements and your Chase 5/24 status to avoid surprises.
The app provides information on special offers, sign-up bonuses, and less obvious deals that can save you money. This ensures you find rewards you might otherwise miss.
Additionally, it connects with cash back portals such as Rakuten and Swagbucks to boost your earning potential when shopping online.
Let’s review some key features I know you’ll benefit from.
1. Effortless Card Selection
CardPointers makes picking the right credit card at checkout easy, ensuring you maximize rewards without hassle.
Using powerful search functionality, choose from top spending categories, such as car rentals, entertainment, gas stations, etc., or use the search bar to find exactly what you are looking for.
You can even search by store. Find everything you need in the “Pointers” tab.
Whether you’re looking for the best card for a specific store, category, or even a particular purchase type, just type into the search bar.
2. Extensive Benefits Tracking
With the ability to track over 5,000 credit cards without bank login information, you can effortlessly manage all your cards in one place.
One area we’ve struggled with is remembering card benefits. CardPointers tracks annual fees, active offers, hidden offers, and 5/24 status, and monitors your progress toward minimum spend requirements.
For example, I have a $50 hotel credit on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, which expires on 12/31. With the Chase Freedom Unlimited card,we can earn 5x points per $1 for up to $1,500 in Q4. Of that, we have $1,000 left to spend.
Just in case you forgot card perks, search for any card details.
With these valuable insights at your fingertips, take advantage of potential savings and rewards.
3. Bonus Categories
One of my favorite CardPointers features is how it highlights bonus categories – those special spending categories where certain cards earn additional rewards, like 5x points at grocery stores or 3x on travel.
Instead of guessing or flipping through fine print, CardPointers brings up these bonus categories right when you need them. Just select your purchase type or store, and the app instantly shows which card will maximize your rewards for that category.
It’s like having a rewards expert in your pocket, guiding you to every bonus dollar you deserve.
4. User-Friendly Interface
CardPointers’ intuitive interface, along with shortcuts, custom views, and widgets, makes navigating the app easy.
We love that the app is constantly rolling out new features like the AutoPilot (AP).
CardPointers’ AutoPilot automatically recommends which credit card to use at each store you visit. As you move around, it updates your credit card recommendations in real-time. How neat is that?
Built with your privacy in mind, your location data isn’t shared; it stays on your device.
5. Privacy-First Build
Speaking of privacy, we love that CardPointers doesn’t ask for any banking information—there is less risk of data breaches. Founder and Developer Emmanuel Crouvisier is passionate about data privacy and built the app on principles we can stand behind.

Drawbacks
One potential drawback of CardPointers is that you can get overwhelmed by all the features, widgets, and impressive capabilities.
The CardPointers team is innovative and growth-focused, so they actively roll out new features to make our lives easier.
Avoid getting overwhelmed by customizing your view only to see the most important features.
For example, we primarily use the app to 1) decide which card to use at checkout and 2) ensure we are taking advantage of hidden and limited-time offers we might miss otherwise.
One of the biggest challenges is keeping up with constantly changing rewards and new offers. CardPointers automatically updates your card perks and limited-time deals, so you’re always in the know and ready to cash in.
I’ve recently added the CardPointers Safari extension to my desktop to maximize even more savings and rewards when shopping online.
Whether you optimize your earning potential incrementally or turn up the dial to the max, CardPointers meets you where you are and helps you get the job done.
Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a rewards app that connects to your bank, this app isn’t the right fit. Since CardPointers doesn’t pull data directly from your bank, you have to manually add and remove cards.
Forgetting a card could be an obvious blind spot, so audit your in-app credit card portfolio twice a year and add your latest cards as soon as you’ve been approved. This way, you’re always up to date.
How much does CardPointers cost?
CardPointers costs $63 a year (Regular: $90) or $196 for a lifetime subscription (Regular: $280).
For those ready to commit to maximizing their rewards long-term, the lifetime membership is the best bang for your buck. A one-time payment unlocks all premium features forever, and most members recoup it within a few months of catching offers.
Free vs. Paid
CardPointers offers a free version and a paid version called CardPointers+.
What’s the difference between free and paid?
The free tier includes basic features, such as adding credit cards (limited to one of each type), viewing offers, and selecting the best credit cards based on specific purchases.
The free version is a good starting point, but if you want to maximize your credit card rewards and streamline your spending, upgrade to CardPointers+.
In addition to the basic features, the paid tier, CardPointers+, offers more advanced features, such as automatic location updates and a browser extension.
You can add multiples of the same card, receive annual fee reminders, track 5/24 status, and even auto-add every Amex, Chase, and Citi offer across all your cards.
With so many advanced features, CardPointers+ members typically save over $750 a year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is CardPointers worth it if I only have 2-3 credit cards? The free version covers you fine with 2-3 cards. The paid plan becomes valuable once you have 4+ cards with overlapping rewards categories, multiple offers to track, or you want the browser extension for online shopping.
How is CardPointers different from using a spreadsheet? Spreadsheets need constant manual updating. CardPointers updates time-sensitive deals you’d otherwise miss, and works in-the-moment at checkout. Can you imagine trying to pull up a spreadsheet at the grocery store register…
Does CardPointers work outside the US? Yes! It supports 900+ banks worldwide. It’s never been easier to optimize your credit card rewards in the US, Canada, and everywhere else.

CardPointers is an invaluable tool for anyone looking to make the most of their credit card benefits and offers. It simplifies choosing the right card at checkout, saves you brain power, eliminates the need for manual benefit tracking, and ensures you never miss out on potential rewards.
