My love for New York City runs deep. I am really proud of where I come from and long story short – New York is really all I know. I’ve lived here all my life and like many other NYers, New York is deeply embedded in me. It’ll always be home.

In Part I of 22 Things to Love about New York City I teamed up with 21 bloggers and we shared a few of our favorite things. We highlighted NYC’s spunky character, friendly people and delicious cuisine. Now in Part II we’ll share our favorite things to do and places to visit.

1. One thing I love about New York City is its bridges, and there are over 2,000 of them. Several of them have pedestrian access allowing for some of the best views of the city. – Robert of Soundtrack of A Photograph

2. Take the ferry over to Staten Island, get lost in Central Park or stroll down Fifth Avenue. Whatever you do, admire the views along the way. – Jess of Jess Is A Wanderer

3. Highline Park is one of my favorite parks in New York City. It was built on unused subway tracks one story above ground which is an awesome, eco-friendly way to add more green space. Explore Chelsea Market first, then take the stairs right outside the market up to the park. – Sarah of Tales from a Fork

4. Where else are you supposed to fulfill your desire of feeling like the queen or king of the world’s most recognizable concrete jungle? – Mahika of Wander Lustric

5. I love movies and had long decided before going to NYC that we were going to find the Men In Black HQ! And we did! What I regret is not finding the Ghostbusters HQ! – Rebecca of Becster

6. I was so eager to visit Ellis Island. I finally made my way by boat and spent most of a day exploring the rooms that so many immigrants have anxiously gone through. – Maria of Health from One Heart to Another

7. I love that each visit can be totally different. The activities you do, the food you eat, the neighborhood you photograph…you can mix and match some incredible combinations for an awesome trip every time. Just make sure you know they brunch late! – Amanda of Chasing My Sunshine

8. What I like the most about NYC is the ability to do almost anything you want to. There is always something to do and no matter how many times I visit, I never run out of new things to do. Every time I go to NYC, it’s like looking at it for the first time again, and yet, at the same time, so familiar. – Vannessa of Adventure with V

9. The atmosphere at the Yankee Stadium; think good food, amazing sport and a great party that you can enjoy with thousands of other people and that’s what it’s like when you’re watching a baseball game here. And it is even more amazing when the Yankees win! – Emma of Paper Planes and Caramel Waffles

10. Wandering around East Village I came across some cute stores at East 9th Street like the Pink Olive, which is a small lovely shop with a lot of paper goods, home decorations, accessories and they had a little corner with baby gadgets. These are the kind of stores I can get lost in for hours! – Katharina of Malindkate

11. On our last visit to New York we wandered around in the Cloisters and its gardens in northern Manhattan: a stunning and peaceful place where you can get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Good tip, the Cloisters are part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a ticket grants you entrance to both if you visit in the same week – Kate & Maarten of Chopsticks & Trains

12. One of my favorite things about NY is Times Square at night – it makes me feel alive! The bright lights drawing the tourists in and the yellow cabs lining up to take them home after an evening out. – Vicki of Make Time to See the World

13. Time’s Square is extra spectacular on New Year’s Eve! – The Wandering Brunette

14. One of my favourite places is the TKTS stairs in Times Square. I spend a lot of time in NY for work and have been known to answer emails at midnight sitting among the crowds of tourists and watching the wonder and sense of awe that engulfs them. It’s a magical place and one that most of us take for granted. – Marissa of Darling Escapes

15. When in New York, there’s always much to do, but being the mega Disney fan that I am, I always make a priority to visit The Disney Store in Times Square. I love the atmosphere that this store brings to the city and checking up on all the latest merchandise the store has to offer. – Mitchell of (Disney fan site) The Mickey Mindset

16. Hamilton the Musical. It’s a hip hop musical on Broadway about Alexander Hamilton. I haven’t been yet but I’ve been listening to the soundtrack on repeat and it’s brilliant. – Michelle V. of Mishvo in Motion

17. The thing I love most about NYC is Central Park– a peaceful oasis surrounded by skyscrapers and civilization. – Jamie of The Daily Adventures of Me

18. I love to people watch and go on long walks and visit the fantastic museums and zoos along the edges of Central Park. It’s a great model for urban opportunity to be outdoors. – Anjuli of Anjuli Global

19. I love watching the Empire State Building from far. Every time I am at Penn Station I stop to watch it from the corner of 34th and 7th Avenue. – Janani of Jan’s Doodles

20. I thrill at Penn Station’s architecture and it’s organized chaos when it gets busy. It’s like a mini-city within a city. – Stephen B. of Expat in Bacolod

21. I love NYC for the Broadway shows. About an hour before showtime, my friends and family will split up and each wait in front of a different box office. Box offices usually release extra tickets that they are holding for any special guests. The madness that ensues trying to figure out which show we can get tickets for perfectly parallels the rush it feels walking around the streets of NYC. – Jennifer A. of World On A Whim

22. New York is best on foot. Even in foul rainy weather, the city offers up its best when you are at street level. – Carol of Wayfaring Views
